This book serves as a guide for beginners to the nightsky of Tonga, (or any country on the world in the southern tropics). Star maps and interesting objects to watch are outlined. It also explains such astronomical phenomena as the tides, seasons, zodiacal light and so forth. There is a list of past and future solar and lunar eclipses visible in Tonga.
Concerning Tongan culture, it does away with the theory that the famous Haʻamonga trilithon in Tonga would have anything to do with astronomy. It explores some Tongan starlore like astronomy related myths, the traditional names of the stars and the months and days.
