We can deliver full repairs (hardware and software) to computers, iphones, ipods and ipads.
We do not regularily service other computer, tablet, or printer brands (Toshiba, Dell, HP, Samsung, etc…), except when bought from us. But we do unlock all types of network locked fones.
Whether you need software or hardware repair for you computer, we can provide both
Software updates usually take a few minutes to a few hours. T$ 70 for a system update or installation.
Same for hardware repairs not requiring spareparts. But if real Apple spareparts are needed, it takes 2 to 3 weeks to get them into Tonga, and costs are usually a few hundred to T$ 1000++.
Spareparts may be unavailable for computers older than 5 years.
The official Apple way to repair is, for Tonga, a complete replacement of the device with a new one of the same type.
Pricing depends on the model, but starts around T$ 200 for batteries only, T$ 500 screen only, T$ 1000 anything else. For newer models the prices may double. Of course no charge if still under warranty. It takes 2 to 3 weeks to get your replacement fone in.
Expensive? It depends how you want to see it, but after the replacement you can be sure everything will work as new and with 3 months warranty.
In some cases we can repair your iphone with 3rd party spareparts or secondhand spareparts. This applies especially to cracked screens, bad cameras, worn out lightning connectors, etc. Depending on model and complexity typical prices are between T$ 100 to T$ 500.
Batteries we can do too. Typically T$ 100 depending on model.
All Apple computers come with 1 year warranty on parts and labour. You can extend that to 3 years. Imac: T$ 340; Macmini: T$ 275; Macbook: T$ 450 to T$ 700.
Must be purchased while the computer is still under warranty, that is within the first year.
For ipads, ipods, iphones, iwatches there is Applecare+. Unfortunately not available in Tonga.
In order to download apps from the Apple appstore, you must have a AppleID. You can register one yourself, or we can do it for you: T$ 50. Alternatively we can download apps for you, but then they are under our name. Usually T$ 5 to 10 each.
Many popular apps (Facebook, Messenger) are free, but some cost money. Then you need a international debit\creditcard. Cards from Tonga banks will not work.
Fones can be locked with a passcode. If you forget it, we can unlock most fones, usually T$ 50. The same if your Android has a Google lock. All data may be erased.
Forgot your passcode? Miss typed the number too often? Now you have to wait for 45 years or pay us T$ 50 to restore a disabled iphone/ipad/ipod. All data will be erased. You must know your icloud password (if any).
We can unlock most fones (Apple, Samsung, ZTE, LG, Huawei, etc.) which are network locked. Prices may depend on fone or carrier. But for iphones it is usually T$ 100 and takes less than a day.
It is very easy to lock your iphone/ipad and even your computer with your AppleID and passcode to protect it against theft, the so called (ICLOUD) ACTIVATION LOCK.
Then when your device is stolen you can lock it or even erase it on a distance, or trace its whereabouts when the thief connects to the internet. Very useful to tell the police.
Only Apple can reset the password. Go to iforgot.apple.com, follow the instructions and have arecovery code sent to your spare email or whatever option offered. Sometimes the process can take 2 weeks!
Otherwise you may try to contact Apple directly. Start at support.apple.com. You may end up with having to telefone Apple in New Zealand 0064-800-127-753. Make sure you have proof of ownership of the device ready.
Nowadays if you make a new Appleid you must switch 2-factor authentication on. It increases the security by requiring you at log in, to enter not only your password but also a extra code, sent to your fone. The idea is that if someone guesses your password, they still cannot log in into your account without that code.
But Apple seems not to have thought over that your fone with password may be stolen, so it is quite useless and a pain in the neck. But that is the way it is.
Be safe, have a second telefone number (of a friend, family) registered with your Appleid in case you loose or break your fone. Otherwise you will have a hard time to regain access to your account.
We have seen it so many times… a iphone is to be restored because of a lost passcode, and then the AppleID is needed…
BIG problem. Without name and password you will be stuck on the ACTIVATION LOCK. The fone cannot be used.
In that case we can offer a BYPASS (T$ 100 to 450 depending on model). It is kind a jailbreak which will overcome the Apple check. However it is to be redone everytime you want to upgrade the fone. So switch automatic updates off.
